Elevating the Payup Landing Page Experience

Elevating the Payup Landing Page Experience

Elevating the Payup Landing Page Experience

What is Payup?

Payup is a fintech platform designed to simplify financial transactions, allowing users to seamlessly pay bills, buy airtime, manage their wallets, and process gift card transactions. To make everyday financial operations faster and more intuitive, Payup serves as a bridge between users and easy digital payments. The project to optimize its landing page was initiated to improve user engagement, reduce bounce rates, and increase conversions by offering a clear, compelling, and streamlined experience.

My Role

Leading the Charge in User-Centric Design

What Was My Role?

I served as the Lead Product Designer, guiding the landing page from research to final design. My focus was simple… understand user behavior, refine the flow, and make key actions like “Sign Up” clear and inviting.

I handled the UX research, sketched early concepts, ran quick iterations, and worked closely with product and engineering to bring the final design to life. My goal throughout was to create a landing page that felt clean, intentional, and conversion-focused.

Accessibility Considerations

Creating a Landing Page That Works for All

Accessibility shaped several design decisions to ensure the Payup landing page could be used comfortably by a wide range of users. I focused on clear colour contrast to enhance readability and consistent spacing to facilitate visual scanning, making the content easier to digest at a glance.

Interactive elements like buttons and links were designed with larger tap areas, improving usability on both mobile and desktop devices. Descriptive labels and alt text were added to key visuals, ensuring that assistive technologies could effectively communicate the page content.

The overall layout followed a logical, screen-reader-friendly structure, guiding users naturally through the value proposition, features, and calls-to-action. These accessibility considerations ensured that Payup’s landing page was inclusive and usable by everyone, regardless of ability.

What I Learned

  • Let visuals lead the storytelling; reduce reliance on text.

  • Clear CTAs and simplified user flow are key to engagement.

  • Small design tweaks—spacing, hierarchy, color contrast—have big impact.

  • Accessibility should be baked into every design decision.

  • Close collaboration with product and engineering ensures smooth handoff.

  • A landing page is both a first impression and a conversion tool.
